September is Christian Education Month, and we are celebrating it

with the theme “JESUS the TRANSFORMER.” Through Sunday

School and Bible Study, we learn how Jesus influences and transforms

the lives of ordinary people so that we can become the persons that

God wants us to be. Our Bible reference is Romans 12:2 “Do not be

conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind,

that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable

and perfect.” Join us this September as we celebrate JESUS!

The “Transformers”, a science fiction movie about giant robots that are

able to transform themselves, was a huge box-office success when it

opened in US theaters in July, 2007, grossing $155.4 million in its opening

week.

However we, as Christians, can lay claim to something infinitely more

substantial. Our Transformer is not an alien, neither is he a figment of sci-fi

imagination. 

Our Transformer is a Man who had extraordinary powers; and his name is

JESUS. He turned water into wine. He healed the sick, enabled the blind to

see, ordered the lame to rise up and walk, and commanded Satan to

“get thee behind me.” What’s more, he transformed the lives of ordinary

people in order that they may lead extraordinary lives – Simon Peter, Paul,

John, Mary Magdalene, Lazarus, Zaccheus, the Roman centurion, and many

other characters we never knew about during Jesus’ earthly sojourn.

He can transform your life and mine.

     After two months, students and teachers are again finally settled.

         Currently, there are:

               a) eight classes for the primary and elementary grades

               b) the Toddler class started last Sunday (Aug. 12) at the

                   Principal’s office, 11:15 am

               c) four young people volunteered once again to teach

               d) four deaconesses are teaching

               e) there are two mother-daughter teams to handle toddlers class

    1. To recruit ten new Sunday School teachers for children and four

        teachers for adults, considering our commitment in our mission

        areas like Victoria and Payatas, and also Marinduque.

    2. SS teachers and Bible Study leaders will hold “Gimiks” in

       cooperation with the QCD Nurture on September 15, 2-5 pm at

       Del Monte UMC with Dr. Cristy Manabat, Director For the Center

       for Christian Education and Discipleship, Harris Memorial College.

       Theme:

“Importance of Christian Education and the Teaching Ministry of the Church”
